Actively Raining Thoughts-Room Service Home Staging: And So It Begins 2019...

My Thoughts; My Blog!

And So It Begins 2019...

And So It Begins 2019...

If you were not aware, I am a huge football fan. And now that we are kathy footballback in Texas I know that we’ll have our fill of it soon.

But the day after the SuperBowl has always been a bit of a letdown for me. However this year, it is more for college football and less for the NFL. (Did I just say that??)

The new rules that are meant to protect players are slowly ruining the game.

Call me old-fashioned but I’d prefer to watch players who truly enjoy the game and aren’t just in it for the money.

Congratulations to whoever won.

I’ll leave you with this one positive thought…

There are just 202 days until the start of the 2019 NCAA football season, and  214 days until the beginning of the 2019 NFL season.

Bring on the snacks!

Good morning, Kathy... no one could ever doubt your passion for this game!

The next season will be here before you know it. Enjoy the time out and get ready for next season.

Good morning Kathy. Moved from pro basketball to the college level years ago. Been leaning that way for football. The superflop made the move logical. The NFL needs work and workers! Enjoy your day!

Kathy, I love football but, have to admit I wasn't invested in the NFL season this year. Maybe next year!

Good morning and Howdy, Kathy - the calendars  we adopt for changes in season and otherwise are quite interesting aren't they?  Maybe it's the start/end of a sport, a critter making an appearance looking for a shadow or even that search for a new collection of questions in the ActiveRain Q&A section to know that the Utah School of Real Estate is back in session.  Time is marked/observed in a multitude of ways. Have a great 2019. Happy Chinese New Year too.

Good morning Kathy,
Hope you're getting settled nicely.  It was kind of an anti-climatic ending to the season, wasn't it? I'm glad football season is now over, and we can start looking forward to more college basketball and a new baseball season soon.

I don't believe you are old fashioned, I have always enjoyed watching college sports over professional sports and likely always will.  The professional sports seem to be more for entertainment than the game.

I think you will get all the football you want in Houston, Kathy.

I kept my streak alove at not watching the Super Bowl. It has been swo liong I can't remember when I last watched. I think Vince Lombardi was still alive.

Oh my gracious I completely agree... high school and college tend to have more passion and drive.  We of course "bleed orange" #vfl Go Vols, but I always love watching a good game.

Kathy,

I know about your passion for football...Last night was a super BORE.  And the commercials were "Digital Dread" as the New Yorker called it...and five experts to discuss a half where nothing happened...We tuned out after the half..and watched a great British series.  A

Hello Kathy,  I love football even high school football but yes the rules are changing the game.

I generally watch the Superbowl to see the commercials.  I have to say that game was the most boring of any I've ever watched.  And, I waited and waited for the Budweiser Clydesdales, who got a flash ad in the last quarter!

Posted by Myrl Jeffcoat, Greater Sacramento Real Estate Agent (GreatWest Realty) 10 months ago

Hi Kathy Streib, I don't watch football, I have watched it in the past just to see the commercials but this year didn't even do that. Based on what I hear, I made the right decision.

Posted by Beth Atalay, Cam Realty of Clermont FL (Cam Realty and Property Management) 10 months ago

I didn't get the opportunity to watch the game this year. I liked this Congratulations to whoever won.

Posted by Pat Champion, Call the "CHAMPION" for all your real estate needs (Coldwell Banker Camelot Realty) 10 months ago

LOL, that game was kind of boring. I did not have a dog in the hunt...but the commercials did not even make me chuckle.

Well you know I was happy with the game! It wasn't anywhere near as exciting as past Super Bowls have been, but the end result is certainly what we wanted.

I saw some pretty funny commercials and I enjoyed Adam and the half time show...I had my son and two grands so it was a great evening!

We watch alot of football in my house & enjoyed watching Clemson clobber Alabama to win the title this year. Last night's game was lame & hopefully won't be repeated next year.

Amanda S. Davidson I agree...it was hard to get into it this year. I did love watching Patrick Mahomes of the Chiefs though.

Michael Jacobs we do mark the seasons by what is going on!  And thank you for the reminder about Chinese New Year...I knew it was around the corner but the move threw me off.

Posted by Kathy Streib, Home Stager - Palm Beach County,FL -561-914-6224 (Room Service Home Staging) 10 months ago

Carol Williams I'll watch baseball when it's closer to the World Series and you know what...it's fun watching the Little League World Series too.

Brian England I think you're right. Pure college football with all of the students is exciting.

Posted by Kathy Streib, Home Stager - Palm Beach County,FL -561-914-6224 (Room Service Home Staging) 10 months ago

Gabe Sanders you are absolutely right!!!  Love it!

Oh my gosh Joe Pryor There years when the Super Bowl was a yawn fest and then it turned and the games were actually exciting.

Norma J. Elkins your basketball team is really doing well.

Posted by Kathy Streib, Home Stager - Palm Beach County,FL -561-914-6224 (Room Service Home Staging) 10 months ago

Ron and Alexandra Seigel I agree. Remember when the commercials were so creative and exciting?!  We actually took a walk around the block after a few minutes of the Half-time show.

Will Hamm I do understand that they want to make it safer but some of the new rules take away from the game.

Myrl Jeffcoat I gave up on some of the commercials and figured I'd watch them later on YouTube.

Beth Atalay you were right!  Those are 3+ hours I'll never get back.

Pat Champion I was going to slip in the winner after I'd written this but I was so bored and tired by the end of the game, I just gave up.

Jeffrey DiMuria 321.223.6253 Waves Realty   Remember Lady Gaga's performance at the Super Bowl in Houston??

Sharon Tara This is one year when going to a Super Bowl party (which we don't like to do) would have been ok,

Anna Banana Kruchten CRB, CRS 602-380-4886 there was a point when I put my head down and almost went to sleep!

Debe Maxwell, CRS do you remember the years when the Super Bowl games were almost as bad? Then they became fun to watch again. Not last night.

Posted by Kathy Streib, Home Stager - Palm Beach County,FL -561-914-6224 (Room Service Home Staging) 10 months ago

Michael Jacobs And the same to you!  I just Googled and found out that Larry is a pig.

Sheri Sperry - MCNE® you're not kidding!!!!  And, the rodeo is coming at the end of the month. My brother is playing for one of the cook-off teams.

Kathy Streib - I hope life is good now that you're back in Texas. I have a feeling you are exactly where you belong and are needed. When it comes to moving, I also have a feeling that no matter what the circumstances are you just go with the flow.

As for football, I'm not a fan but I love this story, especially the uplifting ending on this one!

Morning Kathy.

Regardless, if you're into college or professional football, those 202-214 days will be upon us before you know it.

Being part of the #whodatnation, I did not "view" the Super Bowl and had a bigger kick out of watching the #boycottbowl celebrated with a Jazz Funeral and Second line out of this world. New Orleans had the best party around! The TV ratings were lowest in the nation for N'awlins ever!
