National Random Acts of Kindness Day- February 17- Let’s Celebrate the Day Every Day!
Today is National Random Acts of Kindness Day! No, you can’t sleep in and it’s not a holiday as we know it but rather a day when we’re all encouraged and in fact challenged to do something nice for a friend or stranger for no reason other than just because.
Do this for me....Take a moment to think about the last time someone did something for you that made you smile. You know...those warm and fuzzy “Ah-gee” kind of smiles.
Maybe someone called you to check to see how you were doing.
A stranger let you go before them at the check out line.
Someone smiled and said “Hello” to you.
You gave a wink and nod of assurance to someone who was
having a bad day.
It is often said it’s the little things we do that make a
difference and that is so true.
So let’s see how many of you are actually reading this.... in your comment
please leave an idea you have for a Random Act of Kindness... it can be something you did for someone or that someone did for you.
And... don’t forget
Random Acts of Kindness
are good Every Day of the Year!

Good Morning Kathy, What a great day to remind everyone to be nice and go out of their way to make someone smile!
Of course this should be featured!
Kathy, I couldn't agree more! It makes such a difference when someone takes the time to hold a door or say thank you. In this cell phone era we tend to disconnect from each other and lose that personal connection.
Kathy, so glad you posted this-I am going to be hypervigilant today about all the possibilities that I can give or I might receive.
Cool, I didn't know there was an official day for this. I'm going to see what I can do today, too. Cool.
Kathy last night we went to the movies and as everyone was clearing out, we noticed the garbage many left behind and it made us think of the cleaning peoples job. We made sure we picked up our own cups on the way out and put them in the trash to help out a little. Today, we will look for more opportunities but believing that kindness starts at home, think I'll call my Mom. Have a great and kindly day Kathy.
Hi Kathy! We all need a reminder to be grateful for little things people do for us that make us smile and should pass that along and keep that good feeling going. One thing I do hate is when you hold the door for someone and they don't even give you a little thank you. I usually say, "It's customary to say thank you." and move on....but I still hold doors for people. Have a great weekend!
Hi Kathy
We need a little reminder every now and then. Thanks for sharing and Happy Random Kindness Day to you my friend.
Regards from the Q
Hi Kathy....you're always so nice.....thank you for the nice email this morning.... :)
National Act of Random Kindness Day should be everyday! People should make sure to do something for someone everyday. They will be surprised how much fuller and happier their own lives will be.
You are the "queen" of random acts of kindness..............that's why you're my BARFF!
Hi Janis- I love the idea of Random Acts of Kindness and I'm not sure who gets the most out of it... the giver or the givee!
Janice- I know.. don't you just hate it when you hold the door open for someone and they don't even acknowledge it.
Joanna- I'd bet you don't even have to try... I have a feeling you do this every day.
Debbie- I think there's a "special day" every day for something!
Al & Peggy- Good for you and I'd bet your mom will appreciate the call. I was standing in line at Starbucks one day and a policeman came up behind me in line. I don't know why but I told the clerk that I was going to pay for his order. It was a way of saying Thank you .
Kristine- see... we are cut from the same cloth. As I told Janice above, it too is a pet peeve of mine.
John- we all get busy in our own lives but those little things do mean a lot.
BarbaraT- You're very welcome young lady.
Jennifer- absolutely... we can all benefit from this.
BARFF- Thank you loyal one!
I've had several surprise phone calls from my AR friends, including you, that really made my day!
I stopped by Target today... and watched a cart go rolling across the parking lot toward a car... so I brought it to a corrral. :) That was before I knew it was random act of kindness day!
Hi Kathy--we need a "Random Act of Kindness" day at least once a week. I am bummed out because I am reading this at 9 p.m. and finding out that the day is over. So I am moving it to tomorrow and celebrating then!!!
Sharon-I always enjoy speaking with you!
Lindsey- that's the way to do it!!!
Janet- you can make Random Acts of Kindness Day any day you want!
