15th Annual Chili Cook-Off in Delray Beach is this Saturday, February 18th!
Looking for something to do this weekend? All you have to do is head to
Atlantic Avenue in Delray Beach for the 15th Annual Chili Cook-Off! Held at the Delray GreenMarket, the cook-off gives you an opportunity to sample and help choose the best of the best. Traditional?? New Age? Chili with a little Florida flair thrown in? Vegetarian? Kick it up a notch with Habanero peppers? Whew... pass the fire extinguisher!
And while you’re there check out our locally grown produce and other products at the weekly Delray GreenMarket. They’re calling for 80 degrees and mostly sunny so don’t forget to bring your phone so you can send a pic of our beautiful weather to all of your friends up north!

Great blog and great job. Keep up the good work. Good luck to you this year. Thanks.
Kathy - there is nothing quite as good as going to a good chilli cook-off on a cold day! This one should bring the people out.
That sounds like a lot of fun. Too bad I am not in Florida this weekend.
Kathy I wish we could be at the Annual Chili Cook-Off in Delray Beach. Debbie can cook an outstanding pot of Chili and I would have to say she might give the big dawgs a run for their money on this one! Enjoy the day to the fullest my friend.
My friend Mike makes a killer chili that we had on Superbowl Sunday..............if he were in Delray Beach he'd be a contender.............of course along with Debbie, the Q Lady!
Kathy, I love chili and went to a cook off in Connecticut last summer-I add a little dark chocolate to mine! Sounds like such fun!
Kathy, chili seems to be a universal food group. Would love to be sampling. I'll have to try Joanna's tip, since dark chocolate is my fav.
Chili not being my thing, I would still enjoy going to the festival for the rest of the events going on.
Josh- I think it would fun to see the New Age chili!
Barbara- Can't rival one in Texas, though.
Stella- During the season we have something going on every weekend.
John- Wish you could be here as well. Hey... are you close to Terlinqua? That's the Big Boy Chili Cook Off!
BARFF- I love chili. Once had some green chili when I was in Houston and actually thought I was having a heart attack.
Joanna- how creative.. would never have thought of adding dark chocolate but kind of like a Mole sauce.
Kim- I know! I may have to make some and give it a try.
Toni- I think they may just have some orchids for sale at the GreenMarket.
Sounds delish! How can one resiste trying all those secret recipes of chili and a farmer's market to boot!
Cool event Kathy - although I'm sure there's plenty of heat in some of those chilies. Is the Delray GreenMarket - organic and local? Sounds wonderful. D
Kathy, this look like such a good idea! I think I may need to think about it for my area. Have fun and keep us posted on the results! I can almost taste it here!
Kathy, I love chili!!! What a wonderful post and great pictures....
I'm not a big chili eater, but my husband's is very good. I'm sure he would enjoy going to the event just to sample all the entries.
Hi Kathy, our church had a chili cookoff, but was out of town and did not attend. With such nice weather, I am sure this event will be crowded with chili lovers.
Jennifer- and with our weather, it's just fun to get out!
Debb- to the best of my knowledge the Green Market has local vendor and some organic produce. We're also very lucky in that we have a lot of growers in the area.
Lydie- I used to go to one in every Saturday in Winter Park (in Orlando ) and had so much fun. Most of the towns here have some kind of Green Market on weekends in the season.
Barbara- well we had just a few days of cool weather here (I'm sure your area was even colder) so chili really does sound good.
Sharon- I'd love to try some of the really different recipes.
Rebecca- I'd bet there's some kind of art show or festival every weekend during the season.
