I just posted today about a Realtors Assn of the Palm Beaches event where I was able to exhibit and share my information about Home Staging before the attending Realtors. It was really fun meeting everyone; seeing some familiar faces ; and feeling the energy in the room.
Often my opening line (after "How are you? Would you like a brownie? and Please drop your card in for a chance to win a gift card.") is "Are you familiar with Staging?"
Yet
Here's how the conversation usually goes:
Realtor: "Why yes, I'm familiar with Staging."
Me: "Great! Are you using the services of a Stager now, or have you used one?"
Realtor: "No."
Today, this dialog brought chuckles from both the Realtors and myself. We laughed, as we said in unison "No". Why, because we all recognized the ludicrousness of the conversation. Why is it that Staging is a subject with which the Realtor is familiar, and in most cases, supports, yet so many aren't using the services of a Home Stager?
Here's some of the reasons I was given, and I hope you'll share yours as well:
1. The Buyers don't want to pay for it.
2. I know about it but haven't thought about it for my own listings.
3. I just don't think my Seller would go for it.
4. I'm not sure how to tell them their house needs Staging.
Let's figure out a way to counter these "No's".
