Today I took part in a Lunch-On-the-House Event sponsored by the Realtors Associationof the Palm Beaches in Boca Raton Florida. As a Home Stager and an affiliate of the Board of Realtors, I had a small exhibit where I could distribute my information and promote not only my own business but the whole Staging field. I wanted to share what I used to "attract" the participants to my table.

The Board provided the basics for hot dogs and bunsand the participating vendors could provide anything that would accompany it. For example, there were bags of chips, potato salad, bottled water, and lots of cookies and treats. I went for the brownies (Costco, Gharardelli brownie mix) and made about 9 dozen!
Each vendor could also provide something for a drawing, such as a gas card or gift certificate to a favorite restaurant. My mother always said, when giving a gift, give something you too would want. So. . . . nothing speaks louder than a Spa Treatment.
Even though my table was next to the food, it's still hard to get people to come over. Everyone is talking; agents are catching up with other agents, and let's face it, who wants to get bombarded with a salesperson while they're trying to eat lunch? I took it one step further and placed each brownie in an individual treat bag, tied with a ribbon with my business card attached.
This works because the Realtors can take their brownie and eat it later; they don't have to be concerned with everyone's fingers touching all of the brownies; and they're left with my business card. This came in handy because at times I was busy having a conversation with a Realtor, so if I wasn't able to spend any time with a passing Agent, they at least got my card when they stopped to pick up a brownie and enter my drawing.
If you have the opportunity to "show your wares", think about what would attract you to someone's table.
Let's hear it from other Home Stagers; what have you used; what works? Share your ideas!
