Everyone enjoys the Fourth of July Weekend especially in Delray Beach. However today I received this request:
In a nutshell, due to an unexpected increase in barge costs, we are short $36,000 for this years Annual Fourth of July Fireworks..
I know this is not everyone's problem but if you are in this area and enjoy all of the events that the City of Delray Beach and our great Chamber of Commerce provide for us, then I encourage you to consider this request and if you can... give a little. (or a lot... your call).
As the article points out, because of the drought some municipalities will not have fireworks this year. However because our fireworks are on a barge offshore and our fireworks are shot over the ocean for many to see, Delray Beach if fortunate to still have them.
Fireworks are just the cherry on top of a great hot fudge sundae in Delray Beach. Festivities will begin at 8am with the annual Sand Sculpting contest and end at 9pm with the fireworks. And, as the article pointed out, there is a significant economic impact for our area due to the event.
I know it's tough out there but if you'll consider giving what you'd spend for
