The American Society in Delray Beach.. How Lucky Are We!
I was first introduced to orchids over 15 years ago... what began as a collection of 1 grew into a collection of over 125 orchids. So living in Delray Beach has been a real treat because the headquarters of the American Orchid Society is right here!
Located across from the Morikami Museum, the AOS is definitely one of our favorite tourist attractions as well as a favorite of locals. There are educational programs, a small gift shop, beautiful gardens and a huge orchid house complete with a waterfall.

After Hurricane Wilma, like other commercial buildings and homes, the AOS suffered extensive damage. And with the downturn in the economy, they have had to call on volunteers to help with the Orchid Center and gift shop.
