Selling Your Home in Palm Beach County- Think You’ve Mowed and Mulched Your Lawn To Perfection?  Step Back and See What Your Buyers Are Seeing!

You’ve probably spent time and some money making sure your home has what everyone calls Curb Appeal.... you’ve mulched, mowed, planted, de-weeded, and invested a good amount of quality time at your local nursery.  Think you’re done?

Yes, buyers are buying your location, square footage, space, floor plan and its condition.  But look lawnaround... they’re also buying your neighborhood.   Remember when you brought your spouse-to-be to your home to meet your parents?  You already knew he/she liked you but don’t forget... with you comes your parents and the rest of your wacky family.

Sure, this is a fairly far-fetched analogy but buyers don’t just buy your house and lawn.  They’re looking at the whole picture.. your neighborhood and how well it’s been maintained.

If you’re planning on selling your house.. now or down the road.. it may be wise to take a drive through your area. Chances are there are others in your neighborhood who want to sell their home and would welcome any action.

Unfortunately some properties have gone into foreclosure and maintaining the exterior is probably the last thing on the owners mind.  Do you want you potential buyer driving around and seeing uncut lawns, overgrown bushes, and basically very little curb appeal?

What Can You Do?
trees1.  Talk to your Homeowner’s Association to see if, for the good of the community, overgrown lawns can be mowed.  If it’s your neighbor’s lawn, get permission to mow it.
2. Plant a tree or build a wall!  You have lots of windows to let the light in but you don’t want to see your neighbor’s bounce house or unsightly lawn.  Bring in some trees or make an investment and build a wall.
3. If there is a utility box that is an eyesore, consider planting some bushes around it.  Make sure you maintain access to the box for the power company.

Curb Appeal is important in setting the mood for the Buyer viewing the house.  Make sure your Curb Appeal doesn’t stop at the end of your driveway.
