Thank You Regis for Keeping It Entertaining and Kind-Spirited in This Often Not-So-Kind World.

Thank You Regis For Keeping It Entertaining and Kind-Spirited In This Often Not-So-Kind World.

You don’t have to be a stay-at-home mom/retiree/self-employed person to know that Regis Philbin’s last day on his live show is today.   As I’ve worked from home for many years, I’ve been able to check in at 9 a.m. to Live with Regis and Kelly if for nothing else but to hear his conversations with Kelly Ripa and before that Kathie Lee Gifford.

I have to admit, I haven’t watched it regularly and in fact probably not at all in the last few years, but I will miss his presence.  In our world of “reality” shows starring people we didn’t know prior to the show and now that we’ve seen them don ‘t care to know, live tv, with the exception of newscasts, is becoming extinct.

What I’ve admired about Regis is he’s kept it entertaining.  If you’ve never heard him tell a story, you’re missing out on a lost art.  He speaks in real words and whatever mishap he’s experienced... even getting lost on his way to dinner... is told in a far more entertaining and funnier way than any of us could ever tell.

He kept the show fun and non-political or judgemental.  We get so many talking heads and screamers on the cable channels, it’s often a relief just to listen to a show that gives you 60 minutes of conversation, story telling, and laughs …. such a nice break.

So, thank you Regis for entertaining us with your stories and for showing us how it’s done!
