You're winning the game... are you happy how you got there?
I was watching the movie Blue Chips (1994) with Nick Nolte as a college basketball coach who gives in to the pressure to "buy" their star basketball players (definitely a No-No under NCAA rules.)
As much as I love sports movies, this one is not just about a struggling team who through a miraculous play goes on to defeat their arch rivals. No, this is about the goals we have, the games we play and what we do to succeed...... it's about life.
It doesn't matter if you're in sales where you're always competing for the client or sale, or doing anything else... we all want to win.... be the best in our field... be the best parent.... have the biggest house! We all struggle to beat out the competition.

When you reach the goal line and look back... do you see a field of bodies that have been tackled and knocked down.... yellow flags thrown by officials calling foul (I had to throw in a football reference!) .... did you step outside the line? OR do you see fans cheering you on, celebrating in your victory with you?
You see, in life it's not so much if you win or reach your goal but how you got there. Take a step back from your focus on the goal and make sure that what you see in the rear view mirror is something to be proud of.
If you've never seen Blue Chips, here's a clip of the coach's final speech:
