I love football, but have you ever watched a football game and wanted your team to lose?
Last night I was watching the Indianapolis Colts vs the NY Jets. I'm a Colts fan, which doesn't mean to say I'm not a fan of the Jets. I have no idea why or when I became a fan of the Colts. I've never even been to Indianapolis and have a hard time trying to pronounce Indianapolis!
I do like Peyton Manning, though. I like what he has brought to the game, and not just his legacy through his father. He's a class act, smart, a great athlete and his commercials are funny! AND, somehow, when it's down to the fourth quarter, he'll find a way to get the Colts down the field within striking range of a 3 pointer from Adam Vinatieri .
But, I can't take it.... it's just too much for me to see these close wins/losses (as in last night). I pace back and forth; go outside when the kick is being made; and well... the words coming forth are not pretty. If they win tonight, then I have to go through this again next week. How many more interceptions can I take?
So, yesterday while watching what was actually not a very exciting game (until the end), I uttered it:
"Just lose already ... and put me out of my misery!"
