Shopping and Giving...A Winning Combination! December’s Season of Celebration and Sharing!
I attended an annual event last week and wanted to share it with you. A
good friend is a manufacturer’s representative for many different product lines... candles, books, totes, and all sorts of wonderful items you’d find in your favorite gift shop. Each year Chris has a SAMPLE PARTY.
Chris turns her home into a shopper’s paradise and there before us are children’s books, kitchen towels, frames, candles, totes, fun t-shirts and a certain brand of bag that’s lightweight and great for traveling!
We arrive often with our own shopping bags and “shop” for all sorts of goodies. Well, we shop, have an adult beverage, snack on goodies and catch up with friends.
After we've shopped, we place whatever we feel is appropriate in the “Donation Box”. This year’s Sample Party raised $500 for The Caring Kitchen and Tri-County Humane Society.
You may have all of your holiday parties lined up but here’s a thought. Admit it or not, we often receive gifts that while the thought was nice, we may not be able to use.... or we already have. What if you had an after holiday party and everyone brings items that they want to “recycle”. Then you donate whatever you feel is appropriate and the donations go to charity.
It’s a Tri-fecta..... Shopping +
a Party +
Donating to a charity!
